Community Activities
The Heralds of Harmony count themselves very fortunate to live, work and sing in the wonderful communities that surround Tampa Bay. Because their home community means so much to them, the men of HoH invest significant energy and resources into a variety of organizations and projects that enhance the life and future of fellow Floridians!
HoH has had a long-standing relationship of support and encouragement with The Spring of Tampa Bay in its work against domestic abuse. The Hospice of the Suncoast is also a recognized charity of the Heralds. Likewise, other worthy organizations often receive reduced rate performances by both the chorus and its chapter quartets.
The Tampa chapter also provides annual leadership, supplies and financial scholarships for the Young Men in Harmony program that seeks to enhance the musical training of hundreds of high school students each year. Other involvements in youth outreach programs offer in-service training to vocal music educators of Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties and frequent participation in the Florida Music Educators Association Annual Convention. The Heralds also perform in various bay-area high schools each year to raise funds for those schools’ fine arts programs.
In times of natural disaster and tragedy, the men of HoH willingly and generously reach into their own pockets to contribute to the tangible needs of those who suffer in times of loss… especially fellow barbershoppers.
Because of community involvement like this no wonder...
“It’s great to be a barbershopper!”
And... It’s even GREATER to be a Tampa Bay barbershopper!
